• Tissue Paper 5’s

With Anna’s 5th birthday party quickly approaching, we’ve been gearing our daily crafting projects towards that. The theme is Cinco de Mayo, which means lots of colorful and festive projects. Yesterday it was tissue paper flowers (we did a mix of these and these in various sizes) and today it was all about Tissue Paper 5’s. I came across the idea for these while googling Cinco de Mayo party ideas for kids and knew immediately that we would be doing it at her party. I also knew that we would need to test out the process before having 20+ 3-6…

  • Frozen Banana Bites

Frozen banana bites are a healthy treat that tastes anything but! Easy to customize and fancy up, these are sure to satisfy in the best way possible. If you were to ask Anna what she loved to eat more than anything in the world, she’s probably tell you one of two things: hot dogs or chocolate. Sometimes she throws in donuts, but only because she likes the ones with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles. (What can I say, she’s easy to please.) So when she came across frozen banana bites that were covered in chocolate on one of our grocery…

  • Matzah Candy (AKA The Best Passover Dessert)

This recipe goes by a lot of different names like matzah candy, matzah crack, or chocolate covered matzah toffee (or Christmas crack if using saltines), but they all produce the same thing: deliciousness squared. In honor of Passover, my mom thought it would be fun to make something food- and matzah-related. Thankfully, she chose something that also involved chocolate because Passover treats aren’t known for their deliciousness. (Think dry, bland, and mostly terrible.) This recipe goes by a lot of different names like matzah candy, matzah crack, or chocolate covered matzah toffee (or Christmas crack if using saltines), but they…

  • Sharpie Tile Coasters

There were a few crafts on our #the100dayproject list that I have been just waiting to do. These Sharpie Tile Coasters were top of my list. My mom had asked to do them with us, so we had to patiently wait until our trip out west. Well, folks. That time has officially come. I can honestly say that this craft lives up to the hype. In fact, we all loved these so much that we want to do them again. (And again. And again. And again.) The husband even wants to get in on the fun for round 2. These…

  • Get your craft on with these 5 kid-approved projects

With #the100dayproject in full swing over here, we’ve been getting our craft on with some seriously fun projects. Hands down, these 5 craft projects for kids have been our absolute favorites to do together and are relatively easy (and inexpensive) to complete. SCORE! A note about the projects: they can all be done in a day, with most being completed in under 30 minutes. A few of the projects do require a bit more adult intervention (like the ones with sewing and using scissors). And based on our experience, all can be completed by kids aged 4 and up. So…

  • Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups: A special treat that is worth every single solitary second spent making them. Do you know what’s worth every single solitary second spent making? I’ll give you a hint. It involves chocolate and peanut butter and a whole lot of mmmm’s and ahhhhh’s. Still don’t know? It’s homemade peanut butter cups, duh. This is probably one of the easiest, most customizable treats you could ever make. And it’s so much better than the store-bought variety. Which is saying a lot since those are so. freakin’. good. Any nut butter will work here. As will any kind…

  • Watercolor Fun With Rubbing Alcohol

Watercolor painting is my jam. I would go so far as to call painting with watercolor fun. It’s the thing that brought me back to art and painting. And it’s the thing I continue to fall back on whenever I feel the urge to create. (Which is often.) So when I came across a few watercolor-related tutorials online, I knew I would be trying some (if not all) of them over the course of #the100dayproject. I have played around with salt and watercolors before and kind of liked it and kind of hated it (too messy). So I just stuck…
