Recipe: Homemade Peach Salsa

This homemade peach salsa is a quick and easy fruit-based salsa to enjoy all summer long (or whenever you find yourself with a surplus of peaches). Enjoy it with tortilla chips or served on top of your favorite protein (chicken would be delightful).

As we approach the end of peach season, I’ve been trying to find ways to enjoy the last few peaches that we have in the house. While I love eating peaches as is 99% of the time, the last few that I purchased were a little on the mealy and bland side.

When looking for inspiration on what to do with them, I came across a lot of fruit-based salsa recipes. I’ve made and loved strawberry salsas, so figured why not. Besides, one of my favorite salsas of all time is the peach salsa from Mrs. Renfro.

What I love about this homemade peach salsa:

  • It’s super quick and easy to make
  • It makes enough for two servings, meaning it won’t go to waste or spoil in the refrigerator because I didn’t eat it fast enough
  • It’s made with ingredients I always have on hand
  • It’s easy to switch up with different herbs and spices

Side note: Since I can never really find jalapeño peppers as a one off thing in my grocery store, I wash, de-seed, and slice peppers and then place them on a parchment paper lined baking sheet to freeze. That way, I can pull out only what I need to use and then always have what I want on hand. This also works for things like poblano peppers, bell peppers, or chile peppers. Just make sure to wash your hands and afterwards, AND DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE under any circumstance. That ish hurts. (Ask me how I know.)
